Impact of Biochar on Lifecycles of Agricultural Chemicals and Interactions between Plants and Soil Microorganisms at South Dakota State University will target undergraduate participants from universities, four-year institutions, Tribal colleges and community colleges. The USDA-NIFA Undergraduate Fellowship site will include a diverse group of students including females and minorities. All undergraduate will obtain hands-on experience of innovative science and engineering tools in areas of Sustainable Bioenergy, Water Resources, Natural Resources, and Environment; as well as be involved in the research activities to understand the mechanisms of biochar modification of the lifecycle of agricultural chemicals; and the biochar–soil microbial profile–plant interactions.
Students should have completed sophomore year when they enter the undergraduate fellowship program.
Applications must include the following information:

Ecuador semester-abroad
Apply for a new study abroad program in Quito, Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands for fall 2018. Federal Jobs Workshop with the US Forest Service
On-campus workshop on USAJOBS, Federal resumes, interview tips, and more hosted by Sylvia Stapes, USDA Forest Service. As you may know the Forest Service hires from various fields such as forestry, natural resources, engineering, business, computer science, and more. Students also have the opportunity to meet individually with Ms. Staples for advisement on the Federal application process.

MAB program in FRE
The new class begins Summer B 2018.
The requirements are simple: 3.0 upper division, B or better in Stats, Management, Principles of Micro or AEB 2014, and Financial Accounting or AEB 3122, and at least 295 on the GRE with 145 on the quant. This is a great program for students who want a graduate business degree in four semesters (three semesters of coursework and a final semester internship).
We’ve got an in-class section of AEB 2014 in Summer A for anyone who doesn’t have microeconomics. Here’s more info on the program: http://fred.ifas.ufl.edu/graduate/mab/

Post Graduation Service Panel
The BCLS Ambassadors, as part of Student Activities and Involvement,
will be hosting a Post graduate Service Panel on March 28th in the Ocora
Room of Pugh Hall from 6-8pm. The event will be about an hour of
questions and answers with panel members from the Peace Corp, Ameri
Corp, City Year, Teach for America, and Fulbright. The last hour or so
will be a mix and mingle so that students will be able to talk with the
panel members directly about their related experiences. The event will
be catered by chick-fil-a.

ACL Injury? Applied Neuromechanics Lab looking for study participants
Do you have an ACL injury?
The Applied Neuromechanics Lab is requesting participants for a study examining cognitive function and lower extremity biomechanics following an ACL injury and reconstruction. Participants must be between the age of 18 and 35 and have sustained one ACL tear and surgical reconstruction.
Participants will be excluded if they are currently injured, have had a serious injury within the last year, or have had a previous surgery to their back or lower extremity (aside from reconstruction). Individuals will be asked to perform a battery of cognitive tests, an angle matching task and visuomotor adaptation. Testing will be completed in one visit and is expected to take roughly two and a half hours. For more information, contact Amanda Stone at stonaman@ufl.edu.
