Virtual Job Fair - June 10th

Career centers at Florida’s 12 public universities, led by the University of Florida’s Career Connections Center, will virtually host the 2021 Virtual Statewide Job Fair on June 10 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Current students and alumni from the participating institutions can register to attend at no cost.

About 215 organizations have signed up, more than double the number of organizations that attended in 2020 and nearly 50 more than in 2019. Employers – including Fort Myers Broadcasting Co., the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Morgan Stanley and Tech Data Corporation, a Fortune 500 company ­– are recruiting undergraduate students, graduate students and alumni for full-time, part-time and temporary positions across industries.

The fair will take place on Career Fair Plus, a free app designed for virtual career fairs. The app enables attendees to schedule one-on-one live chats or video calls with recruiters, as well as sort employers by the experience level they’re seeking and the open positions they offer.

Representatives from the Florida Career Centers, the consortium of 12 universities spearheading the event, will also staff a virtual meeting room on the platform where students can drop in for tips on networking with employers, navigating Career Fair Plus and more.

Iverson said attendees should nail down a summary of their background, relevant experience and interests – called an “elevator pitch” – regardless of whether employers plan on live-chatting or video calling. Time slots with recruiters will continue to become available as they set their schedules leading up to June 10, so registrants should continue to check Career Fair Plus for appointments.

DELTA Symposium

 Improving the diversity of our workforce is critical to Corteva’s success.  To cultivate a rich pipeline of diverse candidates for Corteva roles, we are pleased to announce the launch of the R&D Developing Emerging Leaders and Talent inAgriculture (DELTA) symposium, research grant and scholarship programs.  These programs invite under-represented minority undergraduates, graduate students, and postdocs to share their interest and research as well as gain insights to careers in agricultural disciplines, sustainable and reliable food production, and Corteva.  Participants in the symposium will receive a technical overview of the company and a chance to share their own research, network, and develop soft skills that are essential to any industry career. 2. P&G StandOut Camp: Aug 10th through 13th with students travelling to the manufacturing site on the 10th.

The objective of this initiative is to provide a 3-day WOW experience at a manufacturing site that will build meaningful relationships, provide a realistic job preview, and offer an opportunity to interview for a 2021 summer internship.

During the Standout Emerging Leaders Manufacturing Camp, participants can expect to....

1. Visit our one of our premier Plant Manufacturing sites at either the west coast (Box Elder, UT) or the east coast (Greensboro, NC) and meet with leaders and new hires across P&G - All Expenses Paid!
2. Get to know what P&G all is about, life in the community and an immersive experience in one of our manufacturing facilities
3. Complete a final round interview for an internship the following year with placement being at one of our regional manufacturing facilities.

This year, we are looking for 15 top, diverse students interested in manufacturing careers that will be starting their junior year of college in Fall 2021 for both our Box Elder, UT and Greensboro, NC opportunities. We are currently accepting and reviewing applications and will be extending offers on a rolling basis.
