Deadline 12/1/20 - Farm Foundation Round Table Cultivator Program - Apply now!

The CALS Dean’s Office is seeking students who may be interested in participating in the Farm Foundation Round Table Cultivator Program.

A program of Farm Foundation, the Round Table is an invitational group of 150 food and agricultural leaders and their guests who meet semi-annually to discuss issues of importance to agribusiness, the food system and rural communities. The sessions are intended to provide ideas and learning experiences that participants may use in their own activities.

The program for the January meeting will focus on The Future for Animal Agriculture and take place virtually on January 13-15. The University of Florida College of Agricultural and Life Sciences can nominate one student to participate. Up to six students from an accredited North American college or university will be selected by the Farm Foundation to participate.

Students selected for the Cultivator program will receive an honorarium for full participation in the event.

Participation requirements include:
  • logging in and attending each virtual Round Table session (with working webcam and audio capabilities);
  • actively engaging with Round Table participants via the conference platform, chat, live participation opportunities, and/or other means; and
  • making a 5-8 minute presentation on an animal agriculture research topic during the meeting.
Students who participate in all conference activities will receive a $500 honorarium to be paid after the conference.

A Round Table participant will be assigned as a host/mentor for each Cultivator (student). Mentors will reach out to the students before the event to let them know what to expect, etc. During the meeting, mentors will ensure that the Cultivators meet other Round Table participants, students, speakers and guests.
