The class meets on Wednesday, Period 9, (4:05pm-4:55pm)and will be held online.
Overview: Who gets rights? What is feminist legal theory, or critical race theory, and how do they work? What is property and how do you transfer it? Can you contract anything? What does it mean to be harmed, and then “made whole”? What are constitutions? This course is dedicated to exploring these questions by introducing students to legal investigations at the University of Florida’s Levin College of Law.

Deadline 12/1/20 - Farm Foundation Round Table Cultivator Program - Apply now!
The program for the January meeting will focus on The Future for Animal Agriculture and take place virtually on January 13-15. The University of Florida College of Agricultural and Life Sciences can nominate one student to participate. Up to six students from an accredited North American college or university will be selected by the Farm Foundation to participate.
Students selected for the Cultivator program will receive an honorarium for full participation in the event.
- logging in and attending each virtual Round Table session (with working webcam and audio capabilities);
- actively engaging with Round Table participants via the conference platform, chat, live participation opportunities, and/or other means; and
- making a 5-8 minute presentation on an animal agriculture research topic during the meeting.
A Round Table participant will be assigned as a host/mentor for each Cultivator (student). Mentors will reach out to the students before the event to let them know what to expect, etc. During the meeting, mentors will ensure that the Cultivators meet other Round Table participants, students, speakers and guests.

Applicants must be U.S. residents enrolled as of spring 2021 in an accredited agriculture program at a land-grant university. All U.S. states, territories and the District of Columbia are included in the program.
Students can apply by completing the application on the FFA® Scholarship Portal. Both FFA members and non-members are eligible. Applications must be completed by January 14, 2021. FFA members must submit supplemental materials by January 21, 2021. Each winner may also designate an agriculture-related non-profit for a $500 donation.

NASA’s SLSTP Summer Internship Program
The primary goal of the Space
Life Sciences Training Program (SLSTP) is to train the next generation of
scientists and engineers, enabling NASA to meet future research and development
challenges in the space life sciences. SLSTP provides undergraduate students
with the opportunity to perform cutting-edge research and discover exciting
careers in Space Biology at NASA’s Ames Research Center located in Silicon
Valley, California. Due to the pandemic, the 2020 SLSTP was held virtually, and the 2021 program will be held
remotely as well. Interns are paired with a mentor for individual research
projects in areas such as molecular, cell, organismal or synthetic biology,
bioinformatics or bioengineering. In addition, the cohort of interns
designs and executes a group project.
The SLSTP is an equal opportunity program. Admission is by
competitive application process. Past student participants were selected for
their outstanding merit, passion for space, and desire to study space life
science. Applicants must fulfill the following requirements:
- be a US citizen*
- be in high academic standing (GPA of 3.2 or greater)
- have a minimum age of 18
- be a junior or senior undergraduate student next Fall

a senior graduating in 2021 and entering graduate school Fall 2021. - have a passion for space and a desire to study space
life science
*Citizens of US territories
Puerto Rico, Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Northern Marianas are U.S.

The SLSTP Intern Program
application deadline is January 4, 2021. The
10-week program begins on June 7, 2021 and ends
August 13, 2021. Interns accepted into the program receive a stipend.
Financial support is also provided to interns who submit an accepted abstract
as first author to the annual meeting of the American Society for Gravitational
and Space Research.
iDigTRIO Biological Sciences Conference - Call for posters!
In collaboration with iDigBio, TRIO programs at UF, Student Support Services and Ronald E. McNair Scholars are launching the 3rd Annual iDigTRIO Biological Sciences Conference to be held virtually on February 11-13, 2021. Created in 2019, iDigTRIO is a national conference connecting first-generation, limited-income, and/or underrepresented students to information about careers and graduate school research opportunities in the biological sciences.
This is a call for applications for undergraduate and graduate student posters for our conference. Proposals will be accepted on a rolling basis with a priority deadline of January 11, 2021.
