Project Description:
Oak Ridge National Laboratory seeks four engineering students for technical analysis and modeling as part of an interdisciplinary project to investigate on farm biomass processing for biofuel production. The selected individuals will collect and organize data from literature and field experiments and develop mathematical simulations of bioenergy feedstock supply operations. This project is part of a USDA-sponsored collaborative project led by the University of Kentucky (http://www.bae.uky.edu/BRDI/default.htm).
Qualifications:
Students who will be seniors in Fall 2014 are preferred, though juniors are also encouraged to apply. GPA of 2.5 or higher is required. Computer simulation experience is preferred. Applicants must be able to think independently and work effectively with others. Strong oral and written communication skills are required.
Benefits:
Participating students will receive a monthly stipend and housing allowance. Special professional development and social opportunities will also be provided for students.
