This is an on the ground assistant manager position with housing provided. The Assistant Farm Manager will help ensure the smooth operation of the day-to-day activities at our farm facility where the main crops are tilapia, silver carp and catfish; the farm plans to also cultivate shrimp next year. The position will report to the Farm Manager and will be trained in all aspects of the farm’s operations. This is an exciting position with great potential for earning and professional growth.
Qualifications: • Bachelor or Masters Degree in Aquaculture/Fisheries • Understanding of land-based recirculating aquaculture systems, water quality analysis and management of fin fish health and welfare throughout all aspects of operation. • 2 years + field experience • Mechanically inclined – electrical and mechanical • Understanding of hatchery operations • Knowledge of feed formulation • Bilingual (English/Spanish) helpful • Experience in cultivating shrimp helpful • Well organized, detail oriented, good leadership skills and strong planning skills • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) • Proficiency in: Microsoft Office Word, Excel • Ability to work outdoors in ALL weather conditions – this area experiences high summertime temperatures • Ability to operate equipment backhoe, dozer - helpful
