The Pathways to Computing Internship Program at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) is a 10-week summer program that provides undergraduate students with research projects in computer science, computational science, and mathematics. Students will learn under the direction of ORNL research staff and will participate on projects in diverse domains including computer science, health data science, and climate science. Selected interns will have access to ORNL's leadership-class facilities, including Summit, the world's most powerful supercomputer.

ORNL's Computing and Computational Sciences Directorate oversees an immense store of computing power and its talented staff of computational scientists and mathematicians, conducting state-of-the-art research and development in computer and computational sciences in support of the Department of Energy's missions and programs.

APPLICATION DEADLINE
Selections will be made on a rolling basis and continuing until applicants have been chosen. For best chance of selection, you must complete your application as soon as possible.

START DATE- June 3, 2019, and ending date of August 9, 2019

BENEFITS
$500 per week stipend
$150 per week housing allowance and limited travel reimbursement, if eligible

Must have completed at least one year at the time of applying
Freshmen are not eligible, and Advanced Placement credits or other undergraduate credits obtained prior to undergraduate enrollment cannot be applied to meet the minimum one-year completion requirement
Must have a cumulative minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0
Must be 18 years of age

Internship-Division of Water Supply Planning and Assessment SJRWMD

Job Summary: 
This is a paid internship program. Intern will learn how to develop, using GIS, a CE-QUAL-W2 model grid of the Lower St. Johns River (SJR) from the river mouth to Lake George. The grid will include side branches for Doctors Lake, Black Creek, and Crescent Lake. The work will be completed through testing of tidal propagation. The intern will produce the following deliverables: GIS layer identifying model segments of the LSJRB with segment IDs; Excel files containing flow path lengths, areas and orientation angle for each segment; Individual shapefiles of bathymetry points within each segment; QA of work completed; and downstream head time-series file representing Bar Pilot Dock hourly water levels.

Minimum Qualifications: 
A college or university student currently enrolled in a degree-seeking program and either attending classes or participating in a work experience program sanctioned by the individual school; at least a junior level and working in the occupational area of his or her course of study.

All students must maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher.

Additional Details: Internship will run from January 7, 2019 to April 24, 2019. The work is 20-hours per week. Availability and schedules will be discussed when contacted for any interviews.

Intern will produce a report/presentation to highlight accomplishments.

Salary: $12.00/hour
Work Location: Palatka

Description
Packaging Lab Technician
Tampa, FL

Refresco, one of the world’s largest beverage manufacturers, is planning to hire a current Packaging Science or Packaging Engineering student to manage projects at our Packaging Lab in Tampa, FL.  The 12-week employment period will take place after the end of the spring semester, and will conclude before the start of the fall semester.

The ideal candidate will have completed at least two years of studies, including some packaging coursework.

The Packaging Lab Technician will be based in our Tampa manufacturing facility, and must provide his/her own transportation.  During the employment period, Refresco will provide assistance with housing arrangements.
Job Duties

Among other projects, the Packaging Lab Technician will support Refresco North America’s Engineering Group with the following:
·         Manage and execute a variety of projects in our packaging lab:
o    Benchmark testing of existing packaging
o    Performance testing of new packaging and potential packaging concepts
o    Perform quality verification of packaging samples from our manufacturing facilities
·         Support new on-site packaging qualifications (up to 25% travel to Refresco facilities in the US, vendor production sites and/or a third party lab may be required)
·         Support collection and entry of packaging specifications
