Florida Outdoor Writers Association Scholarship - Deadline 6/14/21

Each year, the Florida Outdoor Writers Association awards up to three scholarships of $1000 to college students as a way to encourage them to consider careers in writing, photography or video media related to the outdoors.

Preference is given to journalism and communications majors, but in recent years, a number of winners have come from science majors as well. You can read about them at https://www.fowa.org/winners/.

Note the deadline for this year’s competition is June 14, 2021 at 3pm EST. Applicants need to submit:

• an essay of between 500-750 words;
• a resume; and
• a letter of endorsement from a faculty adviser.
