CEO Challenge 2018

The Global CEO Challenge is a series of case competitions, starting online and ending with a global competition in Panama City. Students from any school can participate and are invited to put together diverse teams of 3-4 in order to compete. They will first compete in a 75 minute online case study. The top 5 teams from the online competition in North America will then be flown to Cincinnati on March 22-23 for the regional finals where they will be given another case and asked to present their recommendations to a panel of P&G judges.

Sign Up & Online Case – December 1 – February 23

North America Final – March 22-23 
Top 5 teams will be invited to the Regional Final, where they will work to solve the Offline Case, presenting their business proposals to the Hair Care Judge Panel.

Global Final – May 14-17 
Winners from each of the four regions participating will fly to Panama, to join the Global Final and compete for the Big Prize:

The winners from the Global Final in Panama will be invited to the Conference P&G Signal 2018, in Cincinnati in Mid-July 2018. Signal is the annual conference organized by P&G, where it joins its partners to share information and get insights on how innovation is impacting today’s business, in order to win in the Future. The CEO Challenge Global winners will get this chance to meet David Taylor and other members of the Executive Board of P&G, as well as executives from other Companies!

Participation Restrictions

  • No competition team is allowed to be coached or instructed throughout the competition process. They need to answer questions on their own.
  • Any team that appears to have received outside assistance, from anyone, in preparation or presentation of their answers, will be automatically disqualified.

Internship Opportunities

CropLife America Internship Program
CropLife America in Washington, D.C. is looking for interns interested in gaining experience in government relations, communications, and science and regulatory affairs. CropLife America offers a comprehensive internship program that provides an integral experience in the crop protection/agricultural industry, including hands-on learning and the opportunity to create a relevant portfolio to present to future employers in the agriculture industry. These are paid internships, with start dates being flexible with student schedules. Internships typically last 10-12 weeks. Ideal candidates have completed at least two years of undergraduate coursework, an interest in agriculture policy and be available for the entire duration of the internship.

Florida Farm Bureau Internship Program
If you are interested in working in legal affairs, public relations, marketing, public policy, or accounting in the agriculture field, Florida Farm Bureau Federation is looking for interns! Applications are due by Feb. 1 (the State Legislative Affairs track has a Jan. 15 deadline). To apply, visit here. Tracks that indicate “Spring/Summer” do not have specific start and end dates and are relatively flexible. Internships are typically six weeks in length and based on a 20 hour work week.

CALS Student Awards Application Open

Applications for college student awards are now open! Awards are available for CALS seniors, juniors, and graduate students. Winners and finalists are honored at the annual CALS banquet in April.

Applications are due Feb. 7 and can be found here. Give your references enough time to complete the required letters of reference as those letters are due Feb. 7 as well - no exceptions.

Food Product Development course - FOS4435C



FOS4435C (Food Product Development) is traditionally the capstone course for Food Science majors.  However, the course is a great option for students interested in the consumer goods product development process.  

Despite the Food Science pre-requisite, the professor will allow other majors to add the class.  Students are welcome to speak with Dr. Goodrich about their unique background if they are concerned about success in the class.

Entry Level Position – Water Resources – West Palm Beach, FL

A South Florida private consulting firm of 45 people that performs a lot of work for South Florida Water Management District and local municipalities. Current needs include assisting in the development of design plans and technical reports for our clients. Also some basic hydraulic modeling would be involved. Relocation to West Palm Beach would be required . 40 hours / week, 8am-5pm M-F. Salary negotiable.

Irrigation Salesperson Wanted

Ag-Tronix is a water management specialist company that is seeking a salesperson to join our team. Our rapid expansion has created an opening on our sales team to build on our success, win new accounts and expand our business with existing customers. This position requires some previous Ag background, mechanical knowledge and ability to interact with a variety of personalities in the Florida farm economy. Working knowledge of irrigation is required and turf is a plus. Your daily tasks will need to be well organized and still maintain the flexibility to respond to challenges as they come up.

The ideal candidate should have:
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong negotiating, persuading, problem solving and follow-through skills.
  • The ability to work in a team-based environment
  • The ability to create and maintain strong customer relationships
  • Detail oriented
  • Understanding of irrigation systems
Duties include:
  • Personally contacts and secures new business accounts/customers
  • Develop and deliver sales quotes

  • Willingness to educate the customer, spend time with them to allow them to grasp concepts
