Packaging Engineer job opportunity - klockner pentaplast

Summary: The primary purpose of this job function is to help the company improve its products in the short and long term by ensuring that packaging, storage and maintenance procedures are adequate and functional. In addition they research industry practices and recommend new and innovative logistic packaging procedures, depending on the product and the business needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Designs product packaging to ensure product integrity and appeal under varying shipping and display conditions.
• Tests, analyzes, and selects materials for packaging based on durability and cost effectiveness
• A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected
• May set up and operate a packaging machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines
• May make minor repairs to packaging equipment as needed.
• Reads and interprets blueprints and diagrams to select, position and secure machinery.
• Adjusts machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to sepcifications, and in a timely fashion.

Qualifications: Experience, Competencies and Education

• Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Engineering or equivalent from a four-year college; or two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
• An energetic, forward-thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards and an appropriate professional image 
• High level functional knowledge of ERP Materials and Warehouse Management modules 
• High level functional knowledge of integrated and interfaced ERP and MES applications 
• Must have excellent Leadership Skills, Team Player, Analytical Skills, Ability to Teach/Train Others 
• Learning Ability 
• Background in SAP is preferred. Requires high level of competency with Microsoft office products
