Reminder: Nov. 24 is the Last Day to Drop/Withdraw. Take action now!
Undergraduate students planning to drop a course for Fall 2014 must do so by 5 p.m. on Nov. 24 and are encouraged to take action as soon as possible. To drop a course, see your academic adviser. If you have ‘free’ drops remaining, you will complete the paperwork with your adviser and the drop will be processed by your program. You do not need to come to the Dean’s Office to complete a free drop.
If you are dropping a course and do not have free drops remaining, you will have to petition for an additional drop. You must be able to document extenuating circumstances that interfered with your ability to complete the course you wish to drop.
Engineering students must meet with their departmental advisors first. The advisor must agree to provide a memo on department letterhead (or college petition form) supporting the request. The student must complete the College Petition form and take it with the department memo to 204 Weil Hall for approval.
CALS students must also complete the petition paperwork (available from your adviser or in 2002 McCarty Hall D) and return it to the Dean’s Office (2002 McCarty Hall D) by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, November 24. This paperwork requires signatures from your adviser and the instructor of the course. You will also need to call 352-392-1963 to make an appointment to see Associate Dean Wysocki for review of your petition.
If you need to withdraw from the semester, it’s also important to speak to your adviser to discuss the impact of withdrawing from all your courses on your academic progress. To read about the withdrawal policies, click on “Withdraw” in ISIS. The process must be completed by 5 p.m. on Nov. 24.
