AmeriCorps VISTA National Service has Staff Positions In the UF Machen Florida Opportunity Scholars Program and the UF Center for Leadership and Service
The VISTA member will help connect faculty, staff, and college students to the community and provide much needed volunteers for local non-profits through three days of service. In the past our days of service have provided around 700 volunteers to more than 25 local agencies that work in all areas of service. They will also help raise awareness of local issues and help students find an outlet for their service passion through two volunteer organization fairs held on the UF campus. These fairs host over forty student service organizations and local non-profits who over dozens of engagement opportunities while educating and advocating for their cause. The VISTA will directly with local agencies working in the areas of homelessness, hunger, and veterans issues through “Service In the Swamp”, which provides on-going service for college students through providing trained site-leaders in their agencies to coordinate the volunteers.
