Two unique opportunities combining science and art

Insects Alive competition with the aim to bring together science, art and technology to foster a meaningful interdisciplinary creative experience for UF students. The final products of the competition, sculptures and animations inspired by real 3-D data from insects. There is no experiences necessary to participate, and we will be providing resources and workshops throughout the competition.
 
The first open workshop will be help November 30th 6pm-8pm, and you may RSVP at 321-987-6915 or agormaley@ufl.edu.
 
The workshop will include:
  • Demonstrations on how to manipulate 3D models
  • Information on how to successfully prepare a model for printing and how submit a file to be printed at the Marston Science Library
  • You will have also have time to experiment with one of our actual 3D ant models, and if you get stuck or confused we will be there to help you along the way!
Throughout the workshop the Insects Alive team will be answering any questions you may have!
