The University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) is pleased to announce the call for Research and Extension Summer Internships with the UF/IFAS Nature Coast Biological Station (NCBS). These interns are hosted by state, federal and UF partners to work on a wide range of natural resources in the Nature Coast region. Applicants should carefully read through the project descriptions listed on NCBS website, as each project requires slightly different skills and duties.
These internships offer excellent opportunities for students to gain experience in academic research and extension activities, as well as working directly with state and federal agency partners. Interns will be paid $9.00 per hour and will work under the supervision of a faculty member, county Extension agent, state or federal employee. The work schedule will vary depending on the project, and applicants should plan to dedicate six weeks to the internship. Some projects may require overnight travel, travel to work place up to an hour from Gainesville or non-standard work hours. These internships are open to current undergraduates and recent graduates (within the past year) from the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, University of Florida.
For more information on the program, go to https://ncbs.ifas.ufl.edu/job-opportunities/.
