The Independent Florida Alligator has opened up its Summer 2020 applications. They're due at 11:59 p.m. on April 28. Many of these are paid positions.
Here's the link to our applications:

This summer will be a little different than previous semesters, but we hope it will only give more people the opportunity to apply. We’ll reduce our print edition of the paper to one day a week and will be working completely remotely. This means that all reporting will take place over phone or video conference. We will still conduct weekly meetings over Zoom to check in and get to know one another.
We’d like to continue previous editor-in-chief Christina Morales’ mission of making The Alligator a more diverse and inclusive environment, so we’re encouraging everyone to apply, regardless of major or experience. We have several new positions, including an illustrator, podcast producer and a data visualizer/coder.
If students are looking for a little more flexibility and room to learn, there's always a news assistant position or other beat reporting positions open.
We’re willing to be flexible and work with any interested students who would like to join our staff. As always, anyone is more than welcome to reach out to us with any questions or concerns. We’re happy to help and eager to meet you.
