The SCOC Technical Division is composed of the administrative staff and supervisors tasked with overseeing the technical aspects of events inside the O’Connell Center, across campus, and in the surrounding community. As a part of the Technical Division, employees deal with audio systems, power distribution equipment and lighting and video equipment, among others.
Supervisors in the technical division can be expected to perform any combination of those tasks on a given shift. They may also be asked to lead crews of part-time employees and assist in training programs. Some specific experiences you may encounter are:
Mixing audio for events such as: Men’s Basketball, Gymnastics, Dance Marathon, and other events
Working with production crews in the setup of large concerts with the opportunity to assemble video screens, large speaker setups, and band backline gear
Providing power for banquets, career fairs, TV broadcast trucks and large scale events
Opportunity to connect with ESPN, SEC Network and UAA employees, as well as production roadies and others in the event industry
