The University of Louisiana at Lafayette is currently taking applications for undergraduates to participate in a new National Science Foundation Research Experiences for Undergraduates site located in Lafayette, LA.
We are seeking highly motivated undergraduate students to participate in a life changing research experience. Students accepted to this competitive program will have the opportunity to spend 8 weeks (June 4-July 27, 2018) in the heart of Cajun Country in Lafayette, Louisiana, working with leading researchers in interdisciplinary fields related to coastal and watershed science. Students will be paired with a faculty mentor and engage in hands-on research, field trips, and meet and greets with leading researchers in watershed science. Students will develop valuable skills conducting literature reviews, scientific integrity, scientific writing, innovation in research, data collection and analysis, and presentation of research findings to diverse audiences. For eight (8) amazing weeks during summer 2018, REU students will be housed on campus at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. This campus is located in the heart of Cajun Culture, is a walkable distance from downtown shopping, nightlife, and some of the best restaurants in the country.

AgCareers.com and Agriculture Future of America (AFA) are pleased to announce the release of a new video series dedicated to college students: Navigating the Job Search Process.
This series, consisting of seven "chapter" videos, features human resource and hiring professionals from prominent agricultural organizations throughout the United States giving advice to students regarding various topics prevalent in the job search. These topics include creating a LinkedIn profile, networking, making a good first impression, forming connections, writing resumes and cover letters, and interviewing.
Inspired by a group of your peers in career services, the video series has been created as a means for post-secondary students to receive firsthand advice from agribusiness professionals who may not be able to make an in-person appearance on their campus. Agriculture, life sciences, and natural resources career services professionals are invited to also utilize the video series in campus classrooms to help students understand what employers are looking for as they navigate the job search process.

Through an in-depth, real world group design project, and course content in management science, project management, decision and risk analysis, information technology, finance and accounting, systems analysis, and organizational behavior, students gain the technical and managerial skills necessary to become effective engineering managers.
The Master of Engineering degree is a coursework and project-oriented program. It requires 30 credit hours consisting of coursework in major and supporting areas, and a project.
The Master of Engineering Degree can be completed in two semesters of intensive study, or in three semesters for students who want to include extra electives.

Design Reviewer Position - Tennessee
Williamson County Government Community Development Department is seeking a qualified individual for a full-time Design Reviewer. This position will report to the Department of Sewage Disposal Management Director, and the successful candidate will review and assist in the review of engineered on-site waste water system (e.g. septic systems). In addition, this position will involve extensive consultation with inter-and-intra-Departmental staff as well as engineers, soil scientists, and independent contractors in performance of this position, as well as any other duties that might be assigned.

Part time job - Freeze Protection!
Florida Blue Blueberry Farm is looking for two individuals
to assist with freeze protection this winter season beginning around January 5.
The hours are variable depending on the weather!
They are interested in hiring a team of two at $9-$10 an hour. They have a very
nice office so you would not be in the cold along with the blueberries. The job
requires a basic understanding of computers and the ability to stay
awake- hence the two people on duty.
Depending on the nightly forecast, hours could range from 7 pm until 6 am one night and 12 am until 6 am the next.

Bridge to the Doctorate Application Deadline January 15, 2018
The Bridge to the Doctorate (BD) grant is awarded by the National Science Foundation through the Florida-Georgia Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (FG-LSAMP) program to enhance recruitment and retention of underrepresented students in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines. The BD grant at UF provides up to a $32,000-per-year stipend for the first two years of doctoral studies to former LSAMP students who are entering a STEM PhD program after completing a baccalaureate degree. Along with this stipend, the grant also provides two years of support for tuition, fees and health insurance.
Former LSAMP students who are entering a Ph.D. program after completing a baccalaureate degree are eligible to apply. Since this program is intended to increase enrollment in Ph.D. programs, currently enrolled doctoral students are not eligible to apply. Applications are provided at the link below.

Johnson & Johnson Primary Container Packaging Co-Op
The Co-op will work in the Primary Container group, a part of Janssen’s PDMS organization. The PDMS organization is responsible for the development of technology used in the large-scale manufacture of pharmaceutical products including active pharmaceutical ingredients, formulations, analytical methods, and devices to enable patient dosing of these pharmaceuticals. PDMS is also responsible for the manufacture of toxicology supplies and clinical supplies intended for phase 1 and phase 2 studies.

- The Co-op would be responsible for supporting aspects of new product development for packaging, device & delivery development.
- The Co-op would participate in various packaging development activities for primary packaging components, qualification of container closure systems and cold chain transportation system, including but not limited to, packaging material screening studies for the products packaged in vials, pre-filled syringes, plastic and glass bottles, blisters, transdermal patches, etc.
- The work will include blister & bottle prototyping in packaging lab, documentation development (protocol/reports, components specifications, etc), clinical packaging for combination products, cold chain container qualification, technical justifications and packing instructions.
- This opportunity allows further development of skills associated with pharmaceutical packaging engineering development, organization and cross functional communication.
