The Engineering Management Program at Cornell University is geared towards engineers who want to stay in a technological environment, but focus on managerial roles. Through an in-depth, real world group design project, and course content in management science, project management, decision and risk analysis, information technology, finance and accounting, systems analysis, and organizational behavior, students gain the technical and managerial skills necessary to become effective engineering managers.
The Master of Engineering degree is a coursework and project-oriented program. It requires 30 credit hours consisting of coursework in major and supporting areas, and a project.
The Master of Engineering Degree can be completed in two semesters of intensive study, or in three semesters for students who want to include extra electives.
Our courses aid students in managing and participating in effective project teams, including considerations of risks and of multiple and competing objectives. Our course program also includes studies on the interpersonal dimensions of project work, including team dynamics and personal leadership styles.
