The Bridge to the Doctorate (BD) grant is awarded by the National Science Foundation through the Florida-Georgia Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (FG-LSAMP) program to enhance recruitment and retention of underrepresented students in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines. The BD grant at UF provides up to a $32,000-per-year stipend for the first two years of doctoral studies to former LSAMP students who are entering a STEM PhD program after completing a baccalaureate degree. Along with this stipend, the grant also provides two years of support for tuition, fees and health insurance.
Former LSAMP students who are entering a Ph.D. program after completing a baccalaureate degree are eligible to apply. Since this program is intended to increase enrollment in Ph.D. programs, currently enrolled doctoral students are not eligible to apply. Applications are provided at the link below.
