The Hydrologic Data Collection Specialist II assists in the collection of data as part of the water use monitoring network along with installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of dataloggers. This position requires contact with area farmers and site visits to farms. This position performs quality control measures to assure that data is collected and entered correctly and that all documentation and other related records are completed and maintained in a timely manner. Specific duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Contacting agricultural water use permittees to collect permissions for water use monitoring through power use estimation or other types of monitoring.
* Recording meter information and well data on agricultural irrigation systems, and entry of this information into District databases.
* Installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of water use sensing equipment. Installation includes assembly and mounting of dataloggers and telemetry equipment at agricultural sites. Maintenance includes clearing brush and debris from monitoring sites.
* Review of data in District well information databases.
* Operation and maintenance of specialized and general equipment including flow meters and generators.
* Other duties as assigned by the supervising professional.
