The Doris Duke Conservation Scholars
Programs at University of Florida, University of Arizona, University of Idaho,
North Carolina State University, and Cornell University have extended their
application deadline! The new application deadline is 3/1/15. There is
still time to complete applications and send in letters and
transcripts!
The Doris Duke Conservation Scholars Program offers paid
research and internship opportunities to students that are interested in
exploring careers in conservation, are curious about research, and are
committed to diversity and inclusion. This is a great opportunity to spend time
in the field, to learn about issues related to fish and wildlife conservation,
to make new friends, and to have some amazing and unforgettable experiences in
nature. Don’t let this opportunity pass you by!
The DDCSP is open to students that have at least 3 semesters
remaining before they graduate. Students should be able to demonstrate a record
of interest in the environment and in breaking down barriers for
under-represented groups. Students
will receive approximately $5000 per summer over the next 2 years, plus an
additional $1000 housing allowance each summer. More importantly, students will
receive the types of field experiences and training that are invaluable for
launching a career in a conservation-oriented field!
Visit the national program page (http://programs.ifas.ufl.edu/ddcsp) to
learn more about the program and to hear from last year’s class. Don’t miss out
on this chance to become part of a national network of environmental
professionals, to earn money spending time outdoors in nature, and to expand
your cultural horizons while working alongside a diverse group of motivated
students. APPLY NOW!
