On behalf of the University of Florida chapter of Tau Beta Pi, I am excited to announce a professional development workshop free and open to all students at the University of Florida.
A free professional development workshop will be held on February 21, 2016from 1pm-5pm (appx. end time) and is open to all students! The program, termed "Engineering Futures," was founded more than 20 years ago in response to a need to provide engineering students training in the "soft skills," those non-technical skills necessary for success in the workplace but rarely included in engineering curricula.
In this program, Tau Beta Pi brings in established and certified professionals to facilitate the workshops. Four of the five modules are the same as those purchased by companies across the nation to train their employees. UF's chapter holds five different sessions during the calendar year. If a student completes all five workshops, he or she receives a certificate of completion, a distinguishable mark on a resume and in practice.
The September workshop is titled "Group Process" and the aim is to equip students with the skills to plan and manage effective meetings.
As always, lunch will be provided! Location: MAT 0002. Please RSVP at the following link: http://uftbp.com/page.php?p=eventRSVP
