Walmart may soon have an entry level position for a Food Technician. Some of the basic requirements required in a candidate are:
· good agricultural background (fruit and vegetable production preferred)
· ability to effectively communicate with supplier partners and build long-term relationships
· ability to make field-level observations on crop quality / quantity and communicate back to internal buying teams – all in an effort to make sound fruit and vegetable buying decisions.
· Potential for up to 70% travel (primarily domestic) at peak times of the year.
· flexible work schedule to accommodate last minute road (generally same-day) trips as requested.
This would be a great opportunity for a grad in or near Miami. Don Fox is a UF grad from the college and is looking for someone with a strong knowledge of agriculture, in particular fruits and vegetables, for this position with Walmart. This position would advise buyers.
