Each year the University Women’s Club awards up to 17 scholarships in the amount of $1,000 to junior or senior undergraduate men and women. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.6 and have demonstrated service to the university and/or community. These awards are given in honor of Former First Ladies of UF.
There are some designated areas of interest for a few of the first ladies such as Art/ Art History, Elementary/Early Childhood Education, Music, Science and Theatre and Dance. The general application form and requirements can be found at: https://www.dso.ufl.edu/home/scholarships/uwc.
The application DEADLINE is February 27, 2017.
The Rita O’Connell Scholarship is also selected by the UWC. These awards ($1,000) are given to students who have achieved success as students while persevering through physical or cognitive disabilities. There aren’t specific GPA requirements, but the application process must be followed.
