NASA FSGC will be supporting up to 6 students as summer interns at various NASA Centers. All students have to be US citizens and enrolled in a Florida University or College during the internship period. All Florida students interested in internships at NASA centers for the summer of 2016 have to apply through NASA OSSI: SOLAR website. The website is http://intern.nasa.gov
The NASA centers will make the selection of students and will request FSGC to pay the stipends for some of the Florida students that are selected for the internship.
Please note that FSGC will not support interns during the Fall and Spring semesters. The Summer 2016 internship application is open from November 2015 to February 2016.

2 Credit Community Service and Science Mentoring Course
Help 6th Grade Students with Science Fair Projects! Get involved with a class that makes a difference...
ALS 4932: Mentoring the Scientific Process
We are looking for 20 undergraduates with a science background (1 year of chemistry and biology) who are interested in motivating, mentoring, and helping underserved 6th graders with their science fair project over the fall of 2015. A commitment of a minimum of 20 hours of community service learning in addition to the 2-credit course is required. You would be required to attend all classes throughout the semester on Wednesdays from 4:20 until 6 p.m. Classes are held at Westwood Middle School. Undergraduates participating in the program must have their own transportation to the middle school.
This is the 12th year that students at UF have partnered with Westwood Middle School. Data from our program show that the amount of time and number of visits the undergrads made to the middle school made the biggest impact on how well the 6th graders did in science class and on their science fair judging scores. The 6th grader's FCAT reading and writing scores, GPA, gender, and race were not significant contributors. This means that YOU have the power to make a 6th grader successful, if you make the commitment to help.
The course, which will guide you through the research process and help you develop mentoring skills, is attendance based, so it is imperative that you attend every class. If you are interested in participating in this program (for 2 credits), please email Dr. Henken at henken@ufl.edu.

real world challenges. Throughout the process you will be collaborating with classmates,
professors, and experts from around the globe as you compete against teams from other US
and international universities for bragging rights and cash prizes.
Campus Ambassador
As a bridge between industry-driven problems and university-based solutions, we need to
work with the very best in order to exceed the expectations of clients such as NASA and
Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. The Patexia campus ambassador program is built around
well-connected engineering students who can not only help us solve technical problems, but
can share their experience with classmates, friends, and professors to help expand our reach.
Campus ambassadors will regularly meet and train with the Patexia team and, in addition to
compensation for meeting defined recruitment goals, ambassadors will be invited to relevant
networking events and be given the opportunity to directly connect with important industry
contacts.
