AGRICULTURAL SALES REPRESENTATIVE

Job Description

Flozyme, Inc., is seeking a sales rep to promote our chemical-free soil enhancer directly to the farming community. This innovative product, INO-GRO, can reduce chemical fertilizer use by 50% and increase crop yields by at least 20%, offering a compelling value proposition.

Qualifications
  • Established relationships within the farming community a must 
  • At least 2 years' experience in an agricultural field 
  • Knowledge of soil desirable 
  • Sales experience a plus but not required
Responsibilities

  • Building relationships with prospects and customers to grow sales 
  • Initiating field trials 
  • Attending trade shows and agricultural events

Location

Working remotely within the U.S. okay; travel may be necessary

Job Type & Compensation
Option to work full-time or on commission. Flozyme offers competitive compensation and incentives; negotiable based on qualifications.

Space Aeronautics Internship Program


The NASA Florida Space Grant Consortium (FSGC) and Space Florida (SF) have partnered in a STEM Internship Program at the Space Life Sciences Laboratory (SLSL), Exploration Park KSC, during summer 2013. This trial program in 2013 will comprise up to 4 SLSL research project interns. This is a paid internship of $5,000 for the 10-week program that will commence on June 3, and conclude on August 9, 2013.

The goal of the Internship program will be to train and recruit Florida science/engineering students into the aerospace & aviation workforce as future employees, while encouraging further study and academic achievement. Particular emphasis will be directed towards building and strengthening allegiances between Space Florida, Florida Space Grant Consortium, NASA-KSC, Florida Universities, as well as Space Life Sciences Laboratory & Exploration Park tenants.

Tissue Culture Lab Manager

Walters Gardens Inc. has been a leading grower of perennial plants since 1946. We are currently looking for a Tissue Culture Lab Manager to lead and develop our TC lab into a world-class propagation facility. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

 This position is responsible for leading the propagation of tissue culture crops and the management of lab personnel. Specific duties include:

Direct and schedule lab production to meet weekly goals
Develop, implement and maintain best practices for lab protocol
Research and develop appropriate media formulas
Coordinate with other departments for production goals and culture initiations
Maintain computer records to measure and improve lab efficiencies
Manage, evaluate, and direct staff
Maintain lab rooms for optimal growing conditions
Oversee the training of sterile technique, multiplication, contamination prevention and product initiation
Design experiments for crop improvement

QUALIFICATIONS:

Qualified applicants must have 3-5 years experiencing working in a tissue culture lab and a BS degree in Microbiology, Agriculture, Ornamental Horticulture or related field. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, previous management experience required. This is a full-time position and is located in Zeeland, Michigan.

The South Florida Water Management District will have some paid student internships available this summer. There will be six available from June 3 to August 9. Most of the positions will be in our West Palm Beach office, however one will be located in the Ft. Myers Service Center.
