Herdsman-Blackwater Cattle Company

Blackwater Cattle Company is located near Lake Park, GA just east of I-75, straddling the Georgia-Florida line.

The open position is for Herdsman. This position will work directly under the supervision of the ranch manager and will be expected to assist in multiple areas of the operation to include: Bull and Heifer Development, Calving Season, Hay production, Synchronization protocols for Embryo Transfer and Artificial Insemination, and routine vaccinations of the cow herd.

Job Responsibilities 
· Daily observation of cow herd
· Active in routine cow work: vaccinations, synchronization, etc.
· Management of creep and mineral feeders
· Record-keeping
· Feeding cow herd
· Assist bull manager with bull development protocols
· Cattle and Facility preparations for annual bull and female sales
· Tagging and weighing newborn calves
· Fence maintenance, repair, and construction

Job Requirements 
· Must be able to work independently and as a team
· Must be willing to work long hours if needed to complete a task
· Weekend work will be required in rotation with other employees
· Must have good communication and organizational skills
· Degree in Animal Science preferred
· AI certification is preferred
· BQA certification is preferred

Description - Thoron uses remote sensing technologies to collect multispectral data of citrus. It analyzes the data to assess crop health and help growers make grove-care decisions in their fight against HLB Greening. Thoron's chief goals are to help growers increase yield and reduce grove-care costs by providing frequent health assessments using remote sensing. Thoron aims to add a new team member to a field crew that will be trained to operate drones, collect data, and pass that data to the processing team. This is an opportunity to be part of the solution for growers fighting the battle against Greening.

Open position at the Suwannee River Water Management District

Engineer I – Entry Level - Minimum beginning salary of $42,494

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Reviews water use and environmental resource permit applications for administrative and technical completeness.
- Coordinates with District staff, cooperating agencies, consultants, and the public to complete project tasks within statutory timeframes.
- Assists in evaluating data submitted, including irrigation schedules and pump schedules, analyses of aquifer tests, computer modeling of ground water and surface water management systems, and calculations of effects of withdrawals on water levels.
- Prepares requests for additional information when applications are determined to be incomplete following administrative and technical review.
- Ensures timely completion of permit applications, including special limiting conditions, GIS maps, and technical staff reports.
- Makes recommendations for agency action following applicant completion of permit applications.
- Communicates with applicants/permittees and conducts field visits of project permits to collect data and determine compliance status.
- Uses and maintains District GPS equipment to collect accurate locations of infrastructure relating to permits or applications.
- Review, input data, and quality control data within the District’s databases.
- Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in environmental, civil, hydraulic, agricultural or water resource engineering.
