Suwannee River Water Mgmt District Engineer I position

The SWRMD is looking for an Engineer for an entry-level work position, responsible for implementation of water use permitting program. Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following: - Assist Agriculture (Ag) Team leader with processing cost-share program applications and contracts, obtaining all required supplemental data, and field verification of equipment purchased; compiling data on cost-share applicants, measuring improvements and presenting results to staff and public; Present/attend meetings; Review water use permit applications; Communicate technical aspects of permit review with the water use permitting program leader; Assist in evaluating data submitted; Prepare requests for additional information when applications are determined to be incomplete; Prepare permit staff reports and other responsibilities.

2014 Syngenta Florida Internship Opportunities

Syngenta is currently recruiting for up to 7 intern positions with an approximate start date of May 19, 2014 and an end date of August 15, 2014. 

Qualifications

· Seeking future employment in agriculture.
· Basic familiarity with production agriculture. 
· Basic familiarity with insect, disease, and weed control.
· Basic computer skills.
· Willingness to work outdoors.
· Self-motivated, detail oriented, honest, and personable.
· Ability to relocate to or originally from one of the following counties; Orange, Polk, Highlands, Hardee, Desoto, Hendry, Collier, Lee, Okeechobee, Martin, Osceola, St. Lucie, or Indian River.
· Sophomore or Junior level (Seniors will be considered).

BDS Sales Position-Fertilization Product – Polk County, Florida

The sales position at BDS will be responsible for customer relationship management, servicing accounts, identifying new sales opportunities and growing our current market share. Our product is a fertilization product with liming qualities used within the agricultural industry. The position will work directly with the operations manager and production to ensure the company meets the needs of the customer. 

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
1) Develop and execute a sales plan within Florida
2) Support existing customer base and develop a strategy to grow the existing market.
3) Provide customer support throughout the entire sales process.
4) Work to streamline the system of the sales process with the Operations Manager to drive growth and profitability.

Required Skills

1) Must be self-motivated and passionate for growth
2) Strong leadership and decision making skills
3) Proficient with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook

The application period for Cohort 5 of the CALS Leadership Institute is underway! Applications are currently open, and due by 5pm on Tuesday, October 1. A quick reminder that the CALS Leadership Institute is a 3-semester program for undergraduate students that incorporates personal, organizational, and global leadership development through service and learning.

To be in the program, students must have 40 hours completed by the end of this semester, 3 semesters remaining, and a minimum 3.0 GPA); 12-15 students will be selected through the application and interview process. Disney's Agricultural Sciences Internship Application due October 2nd

The Agricultural Sciences team is looking for college students and recent graduates (who have received their Bachelors degree within 6 months of our internships’ start dates) to participate in our fun and challenging six-month hands-on internship in several different agricultural and science education fields.

Responsibilities:

In addition to maintaining the show quality of our growing areas, aquaculture systems or biotechnology lab, interns will spend a significant amount of time leading informative and interactive guest tours through our facilities, along with promoting and selling these tours.

Additional training sessions, classes and meetings will be scheduled throughout the semester.

OPICO Position Available

Entry level sales-engineer specializing in agriculture.

Recent graduate – 2 years experience.

We are an export distributor of agricultural implements and associated machinery founded in 1946. We market US-made machinery world wide throughout Latin America, Africa, Asia, Oceania & Europe.

The successful candidate will have:
a) Strong knowledge/hands on experience in set-up/use of implements
and related machinery.
b) Basic knowledge of world geography
c) Knowledge of international farming practices a plus
d) Knowledge of peanut, cotton, maize, and/or vegetable commercial
farming a plus.
e) Very good command of written/oral English, second language a plus,
preferably Spanish
f) Ability to work with people from other cultures

During training and initial period, work will involve recommending and specifying equipment for our customers, preparing the subsequent price quotation forms in an IT environment, communicating with customers both electronically and by telephone from our offices in Mobile.

After 1-2 years, the position would evolve into some travel in territory to close sales as well as assisting customers in maximizing their use of machinery.
