IFAS Research Summer Internships - APPLICATION DEADLINE IS 2/1!!

 The University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (IFAS) is pleased to announce the call for Research Summer Internships with the Florida Agricultural Experiment Station (FAES). This internship program is a cooperative effort between the College of Agricultural Sciences (CALS) and the Experiment Station. Interns will be supervised by an FAES faculty member and will be paid $560 per week ($14 per hour) for six weeks full time, or the hours can be spread out over the summer. This internship program will place a priority on CALS students who have not previously held a paid research position.

 FAES is the research program of UF/IFAS. Our mission is to discover, invent and develop applications of new knowledge in agriculture, human and natural resources. Experiment Station faculty are in Departments on the campus in Gainesville and at Research and Education Centers throughout Florida. The Experiment Station has over 500 active research Projects. Each Project has specific goals and objectives and is led by a faculty member. We are encouraging you to apply to work with one of our faculty during the summer of 2021 to learn about an Experiment Station Research Project and to contribute to the Project.

Quality Manager Position available

Lady Moon Farms is seeking a full-time, experienced Quality Manager to lead and help develop our Food Safety and Quality Assurance programs.

We were founded in 1988 on 10 acres with a dream to grow the freshest, best tasting, organic vegetables while respecting mother nature. The QA Manager will assure compliance with USDA, FDA, FSMA regulations, Sanitary Standard Operating Procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices, HACCP, SQF, Organic and other related, applicable food safety guidelines, and regulations. The Quality Manager will report directly to the VP and will work closely with the production team. We are seeking an individual who will be a team player and help us take our Food Safety program to the next level.

Scope of Work
● Develop, organize and supervise all aspects of quality and food safety programs.
● Deploy HAACP and SQF Food Safety Program ● Supervise, host or conduct all internal and external audits.
● Supervise and conduct regulatory mock recalls to meet compliance standards.
● Manage all documentation necessary for regulatory inspections, submissions and audits.
● Manage all internal documentation for operations compliance; vendor, receiving and shipping.
● Develop, organize and supervise all aspects of the corrective action register.
● Document, investigate and respond to customer complaints as needed.
● Consistent study on industry standards and quality related issues.
● 20-30% travel time to other states

Qualifications

● 2+ years of experience in the vegetable or fruit industry ● Strong verbal and written communication skills ● Detail oriented with experience in record keeping and strong organizational skills ● Bilingual (English/Spanish) ● Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record for company insurance carrier ● Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office ● Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness, food safety or equivalent ● Comprehensive understanding and food safety certification related to vegetable packing and working knowledge of HAACP, GMPs, and Organic certifications ● SQF experience preferred

Salary: dependent on experience + company truck + vacation + bonus eligibility

Based in Ft. Myers, FL or neighboring areas.

Bobby Weed Golf Design position available

Bobby Weed Golf Design (BWGD) seeks to hire a new Design Associate. Our preference is a candidate with golf course design / construction experience, familiarity with golf and/or has the desire to further his/her career in our business.

This is an office and field-based position, headquartered in Ponte Vedra Beach. The attached job description provides more info.

(b) Assist with production and assembly of construction documents,

(c) Supervise golf course construction projects, including on-site management of feature shaping, GPS

layout and tracking, drone flyovers, and all other tasks that may be reasonably expected of an Associate

Designer,

(d) Assist with shaping and construction of golf courses,

(e) All other duties as assigned by the President and staff of Bobby Weed Golf Design, to include but not

be limited to, tasks related to golf course design and construction supervision.

Qualifications

Golf: Should have familiarity with the game of golf, and a desire to learn various aspects of golf course design.

Education: A degree in civil engineering and/or landscape architecture with experience in either golf course construction and/or maintenance will be reviewed favorably.
