UF Career Showcase Sept. 29-30th!

Career Showcase is right around the corner! Non-technical day will be held on Tuesday, September 29th and technical day on Wednesday, September 30th in the O'Connell Center. There are plenty of opportunities for everyone, including you!

Here are three ways you can prepare for Showcase!

1. Recognize the value of your major!

Stop by Career Showcase and talk with employers to show off your competencies!

2. Network with employers before Showcase!

RSVP for Early Connections in Gator CareerLink. Early Connections is an event created exclusively for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year students from diverse populations (as defined by race, ethnicity, first generation student, LGBT status, veteran status or disability). The event is Monday, September 28th from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the CRC. RSVP is required.

3. Practice your elevator speech.

An elevator speech is a 30-45 second overview of your accomplishments. This is generally what you'll tell the employer when they say 'tell me about yourself'. You want to make sure your elevator speech speaks to your skills, experience, and career goals. Check out an example of one here, http://bit.ly/yourelevatorspeech .
