The Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering is now accepting applications for the May 2018 Graduation Awards, recipients of the following awards will be recognized during the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering Faculty and Student Awards Luncheon. The Luncheon will be held on Friday, April 27, 2018. The two Student Speaker Award recipients will be selected to provide speeches during the undergraduate commencement ceremony held on May 6, 2018.
Outstanding Gator Engineering Scholars
One student who entered UF as freshmen (Four-Year Scholar)
One student who entered UF as transfer student (Two-Year Scholar)
Student Speaker Award
Male Student Speaker
Female Student Speaker
One student will be selected for each of the following awards:
Dean Joseph Weil Award
This Award will be presented to a student who has continually exhibited outstanding leadership and organizational abilities in promoting ideals, ethics and principles of engineering and the engineering profession, for the betterment of the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering.
Dean Jonathan F.K. Earle Award
This Award will be presented to a student who has continually exhibited outstanding service to the community and university, leadership, and dedication to the ideals, ethics and principles of engineering and the engineering profession, for the betterment of present and future students of the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering and University of Florida.
Outstanding Gator Engineering M.S. Award
This award is for graduating masters students. The committee considers academic awards, honoraries, research projects, published papers, convention presentations, honors theses, overall grade point averages, etc. in selecting recipients of this award. The committee is in search of someone who exemplifies the title of scholar.
To be eligible for these awards, you must be graduating in May 2018, August 2018, or December 2018.
