Please be aware of a new course offered by the Food Science and Human
Nutrition Department this fall. Food and Environmental Virology will be
offered as an undergraduate (FOS4936) and graduate (FOS6936) option.
This
course will focus on infectious viruses transmitted to humans from
contaminated food, water, and contact surfaces. Food virology is an
emerging topic in the field of microbial food safety, and this course
help students develop a competency framework within their discipline.
