Grad Assistantship - Iowa State University

Position: Graduate Assistantship in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering
Advanced Machinery Engineering area

Background: Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering is building machinery testing capability to meet current and future industry needs. Many opportunities for research exist with the new Soil-Machine Dynamics Laboratory and Off-Highway Vehicle Chassis Dynamometer Laboratory. In addition, the fluid power education program has need for teaching assistant support.

Emphases: Teaching assistant support for fluid power and machine systems courses. Research in soil-machine dynamics and/or vehicle testing.

Availability: August 15, 2020

Qualifications:

• BS in Agricultural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Systems Technology, Industrial Technology, or closely related area

• Eligibility for acceptance into Agricultural Engineering or Industrial and Agricultural Technology graduate programs at Iowa State

• Interest in fluid power and machinery testing
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Interest in teaching and guiding student learning

Additional attributes desired:
• Coursework in fluid power, agricultural machine design, soil machine dynamics,
• Experience with machinery testing
