Scholarship Opportunity
The Association of Cuban-American Engineers Scholarship Foundation, Inc. offers scholarships (ranging from $500 to $2,500) to Hispanic engineering students. In the past, many of the scholarships granted have gone to deserving undergraduate and graduate students.
The organization began accepting applications in November. Applications can be submitted through January 31st, 2020 and the awards will presented in March 2020. Among other things, you must have completed 30 credit hours, were enrolled in the fall and will be enrolled this spring.
You can apply online on the Foundation's updated website http://www.cubanamericanengineers.com You will also need to submit an official transcript and the first page of your student aid report (SAR). The complete scholarship application instructions are available on the website at the bottom of the application form.

Looking for a way to get involved in the College of Engineering and to socialize and network with other engineering majors? Rush Theta Tau!
Theta Tau is a Professional Co-Ed Engineering Fraternity that is selective and exclusive to the Engineering majors at UF. Many of our brothers have gotten internships, co-ops, and full time jobs with companies such as GE, P&G, Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Disney, Johnson and Johnson, Tesla, SpaceX and many more. Many of those positions were obtained by networking with brothers within the fraternity
We are hosting 10 rush events starting Wednesday, January 8th, with an information session to learn more about our fraternity and to meet brothers! There will also be FREE PIZZA (vegetarian options included too).

Spring Program - URM STEM Juniors-Deadline 1/10/20
There is a special program this spring for underrepresented STEM Juniors who are preparing to apply to graduate school. This will be a spring – fall initiative to work with these students on the process of applying for graduate school including identifying where to apply, personal statements, letters of rec, etc. We will provide a small research stipend and also take them to the Florida Undergraduate Research Conference. We will also help them apply to summer REUs.

Litco looking for packaging sales engineer
Litco is seeking a packaging sales engineer to gain market share for our line of innovative, sustainable, engineered wood transport packaging products. This is a business-to-business, outside sales specialist position in tertiary, transport packaging, and related packaging products. The sales channels are direct end-user and through authorized distributors.
Our ideal candidate:
· Has a packaging engineering degree or related field; examples – industrial, chemical, materials, science engineer, mechanical
· Is a Certified Packaging Professional (CPP) by the Institute of Packaging Professionals
· Has experience calling on medium to large size companies
· Possesses the ability to understand and present our product, based on performance
· Desires a sales position that uses a combination of technical and creative skill sets
· Has a proven record of success selling transport packaging products based on performance
· Is willing and able to travel
· Familiar with ISO and ASTM pallet and packaging standards

The College of Agricultural and Life Sciences undergraduate scholarship application is now available online. This application is for scholarships that will be awarded in Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 (Spring 2021 and Summer 2021 for Innovation Academy students only).

CALS awarded $418,028 to 349 undergraduate students for the 2019-2020 academic year. Individuals who received a scholarship for the 2019-2020 academic year must complete a 2020-2021 application to be considered for scholarship renewal.
Awards
Each spring, CALS recognizes outstanding juniors and seniors at its Scholarship and Leadership Awards Banquet (April 16, 2020).
CALS will recognize the Top Ten Seniors and Top Three Juniors; highly meritorious students who exemplify the college's core values of Integrity, Diversity, Collaboration and Service.
Winners for the following awards will be determined from the Top Ten Seniors:
J. Wayne Reitz Medal of Excellence- CALS Outstanding Senior Award
Larry J. Connor Medal of Excellence
CALS Alumni and Friends Leadership Award
Emelie L. Matthews Award of Excellence (transfer students only)
Three outstanding Juniors will be recognized as finalists and one will be named the E.T. York Award winner.
