The Forest Watershed Science Unit (SRS-4353) of the USFS, Southern Research Station is recruiting a 2 Year Term, Research Biological Science Technician that will be located at the Forest Sciences Laboratory, New Ellenton, South Carolina. The position is classified as career ladder at the GS-5, GS-6 or GS-7 level (salary range $32,844 to $52,893/yr plus standard Federal benefits). The duty station will be located at the Forestry Sciences Laboratory in New Ellenton, SC.The program of work focuses on research pursuant to sustainable short rotation woody cropping systems, and determining the effects of intensive sivicultural practices on ecosystem function. Most of the research occurs within the Department of Energy’s Savanah River Site.
The incumbent will participate in technical aspects of ongoing team-oriented research focused on understanding the response of forested ecosystems to intensive sivicultural activities. (Contact Robin Snyder for a more complete job description).
