FDACS - Office of Energy Internship Opportunity-Deadline Friday 5/3!!

The Florida Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services, Office of Energy (department) has an opening for two paid Interns ($8.46 per hour).

Minimum Qualification: Open to all majors, all schools (undergraduate, graduate school, or law school)
Minimum Commitment: 10-20 hrs/week

Office of Energy – Intern Description

The candidates we seek must be skilled in the Microsoft program applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and must have skills in using a multi-line phone. The applicant must have good organizational skills and the ability to learn new processes and different functions of the department. We are looking for someone who works well with others, is a self-starter, and is motivated to do the best job possible.

The department is considering hiring two interns:

Internship Opportunity #1:

The position requires providing high-level administrative support by conducting energy related research, preparing reports, handling information requests, assisting constituents, and performing administrative and clerical functions related to program management. Experience and knowledge of the energy industry is preferred. This opportunity is open to all majors.

Internship Opportunity #2:


The position requires familiarity with power and energy, power systems analysis, circuits, power electronics, renewable energy, microgrids, and smart grids.

Technical experience in one or more of the following is preferred:
electrical, mechanical, or chemical engineering;
computer science or scientific computing; or
law or economics with a focus on energy.

Preferred skills, experience, or coursework includes:
MATLAB/Simulink
Other programming skills (e.g. C, C++, Python, Java)
Time-series analysis, plotting/visualizing data, probability and statistics
Creative abilities to help produce videos or web-content for education and dissemination of results.
