Irrigation Technician Wanted - Collier Soil and Water Conservation District

The Collier Soil and Water Conservation District (CSWCD) is now accepting applications to fill the fulltime position of TECHNICIAN with the MOBILE IRRIGATION LABORATORY (MIL) at its North Fort Myers office in Florida.

This position services 5 counties (Collier, Lee, Charlotte, Hendry and Glades) and is responsible for assisting the MIL Team Leader on evaluating and reporting on a variety of agricultural irrigation systems. Office work and frequent daily outdoors agricultural irrigation system fieldwork is typical, including same day travel from and to the MIL office.

REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants should have practical knowledge of irrigation systems, and the ability to assist the MIL Team Leader in writing reports and doing field data collection and entry on those irrigation systems. High school diploma required. Technical or Vocational School training or experience in agriculture or related field is desirable. Must be proficient with computer skills including knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook programs.

Prospective candidate will be expected to enjoy communicating with agricultural growers and the public and be able to write effectively and take direction from the MIL Team Leader.

Valid Florida driver’s license required.

Starting annual salary is $32,000 with benefits.
