Engineering Assistant Prospect- Cook Manufacturing Group

Cook Manufacturing Group is seeking to fill a Project Manager Assistant position. This hands-on position will receive extensive training in equipment design, operation, and troubleshooting as well as industrial and construction safety. The preferred candidate will be a recent chemical, mechanical, electrical, or agricultural engineering graduate or related science and math majors.

Qualifications
  • Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical and/or Agricultural Engineering Students or related Science/Math Majors Must have good Math, Chemistry and Physics skills
  • Well organized
  • Communicate and work well with others
  • Possess leadership skills to run a crew
  • Writes well and accurately
  •  Initiative and self motivation are a must
  •  Valid Driver’s License
  •  Able to obtain a Passport
  •  Must be fluent in English
  • Job Description: Assist with the following (CMG will train the right person)Troubleshooting equipment at various plants
  • Project design, sales, cost estimation and construction foreman
  •  Integral part of construction crew (Hands on supervision
  •  Travel 25% of the time
  •  Supervision of shop projects
  •  Start up and training for equipment sold
  •  Generally must relocate to within 30 miles of Frostproof, FL Development of new processes
  • Quality control

 Manufacture of Feed Dryers, evaporation equipment, and Heat Exchangers
Duties may include but not be limited to:
  • Equipment and or process troubleshooting at client plant locations
  • Design, cost estimation and sales of equipment or services
  • Coordination and supervision of equipment shop fabrication and field installation as well as being a working part of the installation team
  • Start-up, commissioning, and client personnel training on new or modified equipment
  • Development of new or modified processes to enhance client plant operations
  • Job Requirements
  • A strong work ethic and the ability to work with minimal supervision upon completion of training. Must be a self-starter and consistently maintain highly ethical professional standards. Must be organized and have keen attention to detail.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Agricultural Engineering
  • from an accredited university, college or similar discipline. . Must be able to routinely and accurately apply mathematical, chemical and mechanical principles to practical situations.
  • Basic computer and internet skills including email, spreadsheets, word processing and
  • presentation programs (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint preferred)
  • Ability to compose clear, concise, grammatically correct business documents such as
  • Emails, letters, proposals, presentations, training materials and diagrams
  • Live (or be willing to relocate to) within 30 miles of Frostproof, FL
  • Willingness to travel; some trips are several weeks’ duration
  • Must be able to routinely lift up to 40 lbs and work in industrial environments (indoor and outdoor) that may be hot and humid or cold and damp for extended periods of time
  • Manual dexterity and the ability to safely use hand and power tools
  • A valid U.S. Driver’s License
  • The ability to legally work in the United States. Cook Manufacturing Group will not sponsor a visa.
  • Desirable Skills or Attributes
  • A decent percentage of our client base speaks Spanish; English/Spanish bi-lingual a definite plus
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Non-smoker a definite plus
