Food and Resource Economics accepting applications for MAB: 1-yr, non-thesis business degree

The Food and Resource Economics Department in the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences (CALS) is accepting applications for our 1-year non-thesis Master of Agribusiness (MAB) program. The next class begins Summer B 2021.

The MAB is a Graduate Business degree that offers students in non-econ disciplines the opportunity to obtain the business background they need to be competitive in the workforce.

• Courses in finance, public policy, management strategies, risk management, international marketing, decision-making, and quantitative methods.
• Blends business and economics with the applied science of agriculture, providing methods for solving real-world problems.
• Includes a summer internship in which students have the opportunity to put to use the skills learned in the program.
• Provides students the knowledge and skills necessary for careers in a changing and complex economy.
• Prepares students for employment in a wide variety of industries in occupations including managers, financial advisors, account executives, bankers, farmers, sales representatives, procurers, producers, merchandisers, consultants, entrepreneurs, and public school teachers.

Requirements for admission:
• 3.0 upper division GPA
• B or better grades in the four prerequisite courses:
o Principles of Microeconomics or AEB 2014 Economic Issues, Food, and You, or similar Microeconomics-based course
o Principles of Management, AEB 3133 Principles of Agribusiness Management or other Management course
o Financial Accounting or AEB 3122 Financial Planning for Agribusiness
o Statistics
• Three strong letters of recommendation
